Pepsi Pops 2018

Updated: Apr 28, 2020

MYSO looks forward to this annual event each year. Not just because we get to perform, but because it's a celebration and culmination of a year's work of rehearsals, sectionals, practice, and the other serious work that goes into being a musician. The second week of May marks the end of the MYSO season and the unofficial start of summer. With the school year done, this is a time to break out the lawn chairs, pack a picnic dinner, and head over to Trace Park at the Ross Barnett Reservoir to listen to the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra as they play popular Americana songs while playing a game of tag and gazing upon the boats with their festive strings of light floating nearby.

It was a picture perfect evening at this year's Pepsi Pops and MYSO kicked off the event by entertaining the crowd with a medley of popular Pixar tunes.
